The Gorni Bogrov monastery “St George the Victorious” is situated at the end of the Gorni Bogrov village, on the main road from Sofia to Varna.

History and general info
Ňhe “St George the Victorious” monastery is believed to have been built in 19th century.

The complex represents several residential buildings and a small church that has been closed recently. The church’s holiday is on 6th May, St George’s Day.

The whole monastery is surrounded by an imposing brick-wall, while in the yard a new fountain with two small statues of lions has been erected.

At present, the monastery functions as monks’ cloister.

The monastery lies on the main road between Sofia and Varna and there is a sign just before one reaches it.
